MEDITATION

The mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory

Colossians 1:26-27

OBSERVATION AND INTERPRETATION

The mystery which has been hidden from ages…

1. The mystery – the inclusion of Gentiles as part of God’s people –
   1. Had been hidden
   2. But now has been revealed to the saints of God
2. The revealed mystery
   1. God reveals this mystery to only those whom He chooses
   2. God reveals, to those whom He wants, the riches of the glory of the mystery

The riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles …

1. What are the riches of the glory of this mystery?
2. The riches of the glory of the mystery are truncated as “Christ in you,”
   1. Who is in us
   2. Who is the hope of glory
3. The riches of the glory of the mystery
   1. Refer to our salvation in Christ and its attendant blessings
   2. Are summed up in all that God has promised to us in Christ Jesus

APPLICATION TO LIFE AND MINISTRY

1. The disclosure of the mystery in Christ
   1. This is God’s doing
   2. We who are in Christ are part of God’s people in every sense of the word
2. The riches of the glory of the mystery are the blessings associated with our salvation in Christ; they are priceless and precious
3. Let us devote ourselves to the study of this mystery!
